A microbrewery ran entirely by women will be among 25 exhibitors of craft beer, cider, artisan gins and cocktails at this month’s North Hop festival in Scotland.
WooHa Brewing Company is an all-female business in its second year of trade, and is located in the Scottish seaside town of Nairn.
Owner and head brewer Heather McDonald told the BBC: “We have decided to attend the annual North Hop craft beer festival this year and we are extremely excited to see how the festival goers react to our brewers.
“North Hop has a great reputation in the Inverness and surrounding areas and will allow us to connect with our customers in a new way, being face-to-face and allowing us to give them an insight into the brewery.”
Organiser Michelle Russell created the weekend-long event, which debuted last year, in response to a perceived gap in the beer festival market.
The website states: “Just about all other main cities around the UK seemed to be enjoying large scale craft beer festivals whilst Inverness was kind of left out, despite being located in the Highlands, home of some of the best craft beer breweries going.”
The festival will take place on 21 and 22 August at Eden Court in Inverness.
